Homemade Beer Bread


  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 T baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 12-oz. bottle beer*
  • 3 T butter, melted


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Spray 5" x 9" loaf pan with cooking spray.  Set aside
  3. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together in a large bowl
  4. Add beer and mix until combined  (dough will be sticky)
  5. Place dough into a loaf pan
  6. Pour melted butter over top of loaf
  7. Bake, uncovered, for 50-60 minutes, or until top is golden brown and toothpick comes out clean from center.
  8. Server warm or cold
*If desired, you can substitute a 12-oz. can of soda for the beer in this recipe
