Jell-O Poke Cake

This recipe came from Cooks.com.  I'm trying it for John's Birthday (2011) in this format.  I've never done the pudding in the mix before.  I will update this if I can remember how it goes over!  :)

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. (2 layer size) white cake mix
  • 1 pkg. (4 serving size) vanilla instant pudding and pie filling
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 1 pkg. (any flavor) gelatin 2 pkgs Jell-O (one cherry, one blueberry)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Combine first 5 ingredients. 
  3. Blend then beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. 
  4. Pour into greased 13x9 inch pan.  Pour into two greased round pans.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.  Bake according to directions on box.
  6. Cool in pan 15 minutes. 
  7. Dissolve gelatin as directed on package, but using half the water.
  8. Poke holes in cake with fork  handle of wooden spoon
  9. Pour warm gelatin over cake. 
  10. Chill 4 hours. 
  11. Spread prepared Dream Whip whipped topping or Cool Whip over cake.
